Congratulations to Lewis Mcgarr and Elise Hutton, two Y11s from Bohunt School in Liphook, who secured a two-year internship at the UK’s longest established cookery school, the prestigious Tante Marie Culinary Academy in Woking.

Speaking from Tante Marie HQ, Andrew Maxwell, MD said,

We’ve had a great relationship with Bohunt School for several years and have found their students to be mature beyond their years, showing a real interest in their own futures, from an early age.

Lewis and Elise made a great impression when they came to visit and we were delighted to be able to offer them opportunities to train at Tante Marie Culinary Academy. Their passion for food, combined with their maturity in considering their career options, caught our eye and we look forward to providing them with the best possible platform from which to launch exciting careers in food.

The 2-year internship is the best training we offer at Tante Marie but is limited to a select few spaces every few years. That we’ve found two students from Bohunt School is testament to the standards Bohunt clearly sets its students.”

Neil Strowger, Headteacher of Bohunt School said,

“We are fortunate and proud to be able to offer excellent careers guidance at Bohunt School and we place huge importance on students taking responsibility for their futures. We are passionate about encouraging our students to become ‘game changers’ – that is, being unafraid to seize opportunities and break from the norm to carve their own path. Lewis and Elise are great examples of what young people with real determination can do when they put their mind to it.”
