We’re already off to a busy start to the last term of this academic year.

Yesterday some of our Year 8 and 9 Students visited Portsmouth for a STEM and Sailing workshop, courtesy of the 1851 Trust.

Students participated in a ‘wings and sails’ activity at the INEOS Team UK HQ in Portsmouth. Our students had a go at designing an efficient wing, which they then had to test in a wind tunnel. They also had the chance to experience the tech deck, an interactive resource for students featuring hands-on activities including a bone conductor, VR headset, coding and ‘the grinder’. Afterwards, students went sailing on the Solent, putting into practise all that they had learnt.

Students were kindly offered a FREE 5-day sailing course during the school holidays as part of the 1851 Trust initiative. We are sure we have some budding engineers/designers and sailors amongst our team now!
