By holding non-uniform days, cake sales to tempt both staff and pupils alike and events around the school, Head of House Alex Waterfield was delighted to announce the final amount raised by all of Redgrave House, just before pupils broke up for half term last month.
Mr Waterfield said, “It gives me great pleasure to hand over such a large donation to a wonderful cause. All of the students should be extremely proud of themselves for helping change lives with their amazing hard work. Students from Year 7 to Year 11 have helped raise the money over the last few years for this fantastic charity. This will mean that the foundation can help those young individuals live and lead a normal life.”
In total Bohunt School students have raised £1020.11 which will go towards grants and specialised equipment helping families manage with the day to day responsibilities of children living with disabilities.
Proud student Teegan Ross (11R) said, “We raised money by baking and selling cakes at breaktime and lunchtime. We set up a cake stand by the cafeteria for students and teachers to buy the cakes as they were queuing for food!”
Head of School Neil Pittaway said, “all students at Bohunt School get involved in charity fundraising from early on when they start at the school. We are always impressed by the respect that students have for their chosen house charities and this is reflected in their successful fundraising by all the School houses. Well done to Redgrave House for this excellent achievement”.
