One of my favourite subjects at Bohunt is Dance. Being able to carry this on during GCSEs was a real advantage. I started dancing aged three: I was born into it as my older sisters always did it.

When I was four, I started to compete in competitions and I won the nationals in ‘Contemporary and Acro’ shortly after. I have also won ‘pairs’ events with my dance partner. I qualified for Nationals again this year, and will compete in Latin and Ballroom. The National Competitions are often at prestigious locations. This year I will travel to Blackpool to the Empress Ballroom, where the finals of Strictly Come Dancing is filmed. I also teach dancing and gymnastics outside of school every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. It’s a challenge to find time for homework! Dancing helps me express my feelings and relax. I have found negativity towards this as it’s unusual for a boy to dance, but I have overcome this recently and don’t let it worry me. The School is very supportive of my choice and love of Expressive Arts.
