Year 6 Summer Camp 2019

As we complete another fantastic summer camp, we wanted to take the time to show our appreciation to those involved!

So firstly, a massive thank you to all of our students who took part, the behaviour was outstanding and each student fully immersed themselves into the experience. Another enormous thank you to our Year 10 mentors who volunteered their time this past week to work with students in their houses and help ease their transition of moving from Primary to Secondary School. Thank you to our staff who ran sessions this week and helped give students a glimpse of what to expect in September.

Finally, a very big thank you to the parents for your support and for working in partnership with us to ensure your child is fully prepared (and excited!) for September.

This week in pctures!

Students took part in a range of activities this week from Street Dance to African Drumming, from creating water rockets to learning how to save a life and from bench-ball to orienteering.

This year we were very lucky to welcome key members of our community to teach our students key skills, share some of their experiences and inspire future careers!

Students got the opportunity to try on all the uniform with the police whilst taking it in turns to turn on their police car siren. Students were able to play dress up and practise a ‘lift’ with Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance. Students also had an option to brave a cuddle with a reptile with Scarlett’s Exotics and finally, all students were able to learn CPR with CVQO!

Students competed against other houses to be the first group to complete the QR code treasure hunt. Each QR station contained a puzzle and information about the block so students could learn more about the School Site.

A big well done to members of Attenborough house who won this year’s treasure hunt!

Students and their families joined us on Friday to celebrate a successful week at camp. With the hog roast, ice cream, popcorn, candy floss, inflatables, music, tug of war and hot weather, it was a fantastic ending to the week.

We really appreciate your feedback therefore please can you and your child complete this short survey. All answers will remain anonymous.
