Report an Absence

There is a clear correlation between students’ attendance and their progress and achievement. We work closely with parents to ensure their children are meeting our minimum expectation of at least 96% attendance (equivalent to five days’ absence over the year).

If your child isn’t in school, we’ll send you a text message, so you can let us know if there’s a problem, and why your child is away. Under government rules, if a child misses more than 10 sessions in any year, the courts can issue a fine to both parents.

Please note that, like all Hampshire schools, Bohunt School Liphook will NOT authorise family holidays during term time and you are likely to be fined by the Local authority for each child and each week of absence. You may view all term dates for this academic year on our calendar.

If you need to report your child’s absence, please do so via the Studybugs mobile phone app. Please click here  to get the free and secure app now.

Alternatively, you can go to http://studybugs and report your child’s absence via this website.

If you are unable to access the internet, please phone the School Reception on 01428 724324 and follow the instructions.

If you would like to request a leave of absence for you child ahead of time, please do so using the form here. Please note that schools are only able to authorise absence from school in exceptional circumstances.

The Magic of Christmas!

During my time at Bohunt, I have enjoyed many incredible opportunities including taking part in the school’s CLIL program, playing the viola in multiple school Christmas concerts and being a part of the pit band for the school’s production of Shrek the musical. Outside of school, I play the viola in the Hampshire County Youth […]

I joined Bohunt School in September 2011 as a Newly Qualified teacher. From the start, my Head of Department and mentor encouraged me to break out of my comfort zone and get involved in all aspects of school life.

I came to Bohunt School from a small, international school in Switzerland. It was a big change for me. I quickly felt welcomed into Bohunt’s community, making good friends. I have really enjoyed being a part of the CLIL programme, relishing the experience to learn Mandarin intensively. A highlight was the incredible two week trip to China and ultimately, receiving a 9 in my Mandarin GCSE.

When I first joined Bohunt I came from a smaller school with few people, so it was a huge change. I quickly made friends within my tutor. Throughout my time at Bohunt I have managed to compete in 3 nationals. I won the 2023 nationals in Abersoch, allowing me to compete in the Endeavour Trophy, a competition for the ‘best of the best’ and go to Belgium for the World Championships where I came 17th overall and top GBR boat, which is one of my greatest achievements. Bohunt acknowledge all their students’ achievements, whether its sports or languages by posting on social media and sharing in the newsletters.

It’s hard to believe that I’ll be sitting my GCSE’s this year. I have really developed in confidence and come out of my shell at Bohunt as the years have gone by. I ride trials bikes and I am looking to compete in the youth British Championship next year.
