S.E.N.D.

We recognise that many young people at Bohunt will require additional support navigating their time at school and we have a broad range of support available to students within our Ordinarily Available Provision (OAP). We strongly believe that the best interventions are carried out by teachers consistently within the classroom.  However, we also offer out of classroom interventions when it has been identified that this support is essential to a student’s progress across the curriculum.

If you believe that your child may have Special Educational Needs and/or disabilities and requires additional support within the school setting, please do not hesitate to make contact. In the first instance, please review our ‘SEND Initial Enquiry Booklet’ below to better understand the processes in place at Bohunt School. These processes are in place to support the high volume of parent enquiries and ensure your child or young person receives a thorough evaluation by the team.  Within the document is a link to make a referral directly to the SEND team. We aim to respond to these referrals within a four-week period following a data review and internal information gathering. If you believe that your child needs support sooner, please raise your concern(s) directly with your child’s or young person’s tutor and/or Head of House. Tutors and Head of Houses are supported to advise effectively and work closely with the SEND team to ensure every young person’s needs are continually met within our school. They are able to refer a student directly to the SENDCo and can also alert the team if further intervention may be required.

If you wish to contact the SEND team directly, please email SEND@bohunt.hants.sch.uk and a member of the team will aim to reply to you within two working days.

Our Team
